Is Your Foot Pain Plantar Fasciitis?

Plantar Fasciitis treatment in Cary

Ouch! Have pain in the bottom of your foot or at your heel? It could be Plantar Fasciitis. This condition can range from discomfort in the first few steps on waking to debilitating, intense pain that never seems to go away. What happens is the tissue on the bottom of the foot, called the plantar fascia, becomes inflamed throughout and at the site where it connects to the bone, creating very intense pain. Many people try home treatment with stretches, wraps, braces, or ice baths and it still persists. And the worst part is, it is keeping you from exercising and walking without pain!

But with the specific soft tissue treatment called Active Release Technique we do at our office, we get great results. It consists of us breaking scar tissue and adhesions in the foot, calf, and maybe even address muscles as high as the hips and lower back if the plantar fasciitis has caused some compensation in your movement. We also will ensure that the joints of the foot are moving properly, because if they are locked up they will put even more stress on the plantar fascia, which really limits it's ability to "heel"--- Pun intended!! We will also start a home physiotherapy program with you, to have you continue to improve on your own outside the office. This combination of approaches helps us to reduce the inflammation and pain as quickly as possible.

If I can answer any questions about your foot pain, please just call and ask to speak with me on the phone. I am happy to speak directly to you to get more information about your condition and see if this is something I can help with. (919) 460-1515
