Initial Visit - Staker Chiropractic

Welcome to our office!

Below is a brief summary of what you can expect when you visit Staker Chiropractic Center.

Complete Patient History:

A complete patient history will be performed with every new patient. The history helps Dr. Staker Determine whether chiropractic health care is appropriate for your condition. If Dr. Staker determines that your condition can not be helped with chiropractic care, he will refer you to the appropriate physician. He has ties to many credible health care providers and will be happy to assist you with any referral.

Spinal Evaluation:

Prior to beginning chiropractic care Dr. Staker offers a free spinal evaluation to every patient and their family members. This exam helps to analyze your posture, determine the stability of your spine and evaluate potential problems that may need further exams or testing.

Physical examination:

If upon spinal evaluation a problem is found related to your spine, a complete chiropractic, orthopedic, and neurological examination is performed to determine your specific condition and underlying cause.

X-rays:

Dr. Staker has a complete x-ray facility in his office which enables him to take and develop x-rays. Dr. Staker believes that x-rays are a critical part of your care as they provide him the ability to locate your problem and treat you appropriately. In fact he believes x-rays are so important to your treatment plan that he sends every x-ray to a licensed radiologist for a second opinion.

Report of Findings:

Dr. Staker believes that patient understanding and education are critical to the success of chiropractic care. Therefore, he thoroughly reviews your history, x-rays, exams, and then provides you with a report of his findings. This report explains in great detail your diagnosis, x-rays, condition, treatment plan, exercises, and the proper "Do's and Don'ts" to help you recover as fast as possible.

Treatment:

Dr. Staker will explain all possible treatments that will help you to obtain the best results. The treatment will begin with spinal adjustments (manipulations) and may include Active Release Technique (myofascial release), electrical muscle stimulation, intersegmental traction, ice/heat instructions, stretching and/or strengthening exercises. Typically, this treatment plan will occur during a two week period. If after the initial two weeks, no improvement in your condition is found, Dr. Staker will refer you to another health care provider who may be able to obtain better results. Dr. Staker does not believe in extending care for unlimited amount of time if no benefit is being derived.
